We oversee and support all clubs, coaches, athletes, volunteers and training facilities. We support the development and growth of the sport of Track and Field in the City of Edmonton Alberta. Go Athletics Cross Country, Conditioning & Youth Camp

Go Athletics is hosting their 18th Annual Cross Country, Conditioning & Youth Camp from August 14-19, 2017! 

What are the activities?
Running is the primary activity and a basketball tournament are the two sports of instructions with accompanying drills and work-outs. Informal but competitive sports of all kinds – beach volleyball, football, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, bucket ball (a perennial favourite), capture the flag, prisoner base, badminton tournament. Swimming, canoeing, other water games. Campfires and night games. FIFTH ANNUAL SPRINT TRIATHLON: The Man and Woman of Teak Pentathlon – Swim/Run/Bike/Canoe/ Obstacle Course. Daily team challenges with both mind AND muscle benders! THE 3rd YEAR OF THE RUN AND BIKE RELAY!

ETFC Special General Meeting

The Edmonton Track and Field Council will be holding a Special General Meeting. At this meeting, we will aim to elect members into vacant board member positions and vote to update the Bylaws with the special resolutions as detailed below. All clubs must declare that a voting member will be present. If a club is unable to send a representative, they must declare their proxy representative if you so choose.

Agenda Items:
•    Review and Approval of 2016/2017 Special General Meeting Agenda
•    Review and Approval of previous Special General Meeting Minutes
•    Review Attendance, Quorum, and Voting Representatives
•    Discussion on Indoor Season:
       o    Review of Track Monitors
       o    Foote Field Dome
       o    Questions, comments or concerns
•    Discussion of Strategic Plan.

       o    3.1 Board of Directors Structure - Change two (2) Athlete Representative roles to one (1) Athlete Representative and one (1) Officials Representative. 
       o    3.3 Terms of Office: (A) Specify that every Board member shall be two years from the most recent Annual General Meeting ending in the last re-election year for that position. (B) Change “Athlete Representative – Female” to “Officials Representative” for Years ending in an odd number and “Athlete Representative – Male” with “Athlete Representative” in years ending in an even number.  
       o    3.5 Duties of the Board of Directors – Add the duties for the Officials Representative.

       o    Director at Large (2-year term from 2016 AGM) – Vacant
       o    Athlete Representative (2-year term from 2016 AGM) - Vacant
       o    Officials Representative (2-year term from 2015 AGM) - Vacant

Board Member Nominations:
Nominations are being requested from the membership prior to the General Meeting as per Edmonton Track and Field Council Bylaws. 

Up for election will be the positions of One (1) Director-at-Large, One (1) Athlete Representative and One (1) Officials Representative. Terms of office will be as stated in the ETFC Bylaws.

Volunteer at the 2017 Alberta Indoor Championships!

Give a few hours out of your day and volunteer for the Albert Athletics indoor events! The 2017 Alberta Indoor Games and the 2017 Alberta Indoor Championships need your help to make them successful, enjoyable and safe.

Alberta Sport Leadership Conference

Edmonton Track and Field Council

A training and networking opportunity for the sport sector that is presented every two years, the theme for this year's Sport Leadership Conference is 'Celebrating Sport in Alberta'. Throughout the Conference athletes, coaches, officials, leaders, event hosts and volunteers will be recognized for their contributions to Alberta’s sport system. 

This year’s Conference sessions will focus on key qualities of sport and are designed around select fundamentals including: Sport is led by quality coaches; Sport Organizations demonstrate excellence; Sport reflects the principles of Athlete Development, Sport is safe and ethical; and Sport is inclusive and accessible to under-represented and marginalized populations.

Dates: April 27-29, 2017

High Performance Coach Mentorship Program

Edmonton Track and Field Council

Athletics Canada is introducing its High performance Coach Mentorship Program. This program provides the opportunity for aspiring coaches to gain experience to be fully immersed in the daily training environment with top Canadian athletes, Athletics Canada Hub Staff and Integrated Support Teams during designated training camps and testing opportunities.

Information on the High Performance Coach Mentorship Program for the 2017 West Hub Warm Weather Endurance Camp is now available and can be located HERE.
